SAVANNAH CHILDREN’S CHOIR PLANS TASTY FUNDRAISER,
November 19, 2008 by admin
On Monday, December 15th from 6-8 in the Eckburg Auditorium at Savannah Tech’s White Bluff campus, the Savannah Children’s Choir will host a unique fundraiser.
The event is entitled, “Let them eat cake” The Choir is inviting amateur and professional bakers to support the choir by donating cakes. Each baker will provide a cake for auction, and more of the same for sampling. Using both popular and celebrity judging, bakers will compete for the “Best Cake In Show” prize.
Baker registration forms are available now on the Choir’s website, www.savannahchoir.org. Registration deadline is December 8.
With their entry fee of $10, guests will enjoy lemonade and coffee, the opportunity to sample a variety of cakes, and the chance to compete in a silent auction to take their favorite cake home.
Guests will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite cakes in two categories; professional and amateur. In addition to this popular vote, the Choir has invited celebrity judges to judge both categories.
Bobby Deen has been confirmed as one of our judges.
Silent Auction bidding will conclude at 7 p.m. for the Amateur division and 8 p.m. for the Professional division, with celebrity judging announced at the same times.
This fundraiser is the brain child of SCC co-founder and artistic director Roger Moss. “It’s a fun way to get the community and parents involved, and it gives everyone a chance to take home some fantastic treats in time for holiday entertaining.” Co-founder and managing director Cuffy Sullivan commented, “We’re already putting our wish list together. I know Roger would like to see some German Chocolate entries, while I’m hoping to see some that involve mocha frosting”.
